Why I'm loving the sun...

• My dirty laundry basket has emptied dramatically. This has resulted in a fading of the sweaty sock odour that seems to have been lingering upstairs for the past 6 months.
• The kids, having used up surplus energy playing outside, no longer resemble pit bulls ready to attack.
• I have achieved so much since the weekend and the the first sighting of sun in 2013. People have commented on my increased productivity in the office, I have stopped being quite so snappy and appear to have regained my lost motivation ( actually I think it was not so much 'lost' but merely 'trapped' under the thermal layers I have been wearing for so long).
• However, having removed the aforesaid clothing layers, whilst I have certainly added more blubber during this never-ending winter, it is not quite as bad as I feared.
• And finally, 'Elvis has left the building!!'  Elvis is our extremely flatulent cat, he has not moved from my bed, other than to eat and....(you know the rest), since mid-October but he is currently spread out in the sunshine on the trampoline. However this is not necessarily a plus for the local mouse population!!?!
