Next week 2 very important things are happening.....
Firstly the kids are on half term...what on earth are we going to do ? Especially if it's as damp and grey as it is today.
Secondly it is Halloween and the Trick Or Treaters will be out in force!
This year I am going to spend the day baking cakes with the kids as I figure this will cover all bases!
  • My children will have a great time, they love having a day baking cakes and decorating them.
  • We are all feeling the 'pinch' at the moment, this will happily and cheaply occupy them for a day of the holidays. It is also cheaper and a healthier alternative to loads of sweets.
  • Without even knowing it they are learning at the same time: measuring, weighing, using the timer etc.
Our skull and crossbone cake cases http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKULL-HALLOWEEN-PIRATE-CUP-FAIRYCAKE-CASE-60-cases-/290544307870?pt=Uk_Crafts_Cake_Decorating_MJ&hash=item43a5ca4e9e are perfect for your Halloween bakes.

We love this recipe http://www.netmums.com/family-food/recipes/a-z-of-family-recipes/fairy-cakes but there are loads more available online, have fun trying a few out to find your favourite.

Have Fun!!!
